However they can be a source of keyword rich anchor text and can direct search engines into the site. Relevant Anchor TextRelevant anchor text is probably one of the main areas where inbound-links fail to live up to their potential. You should provide potential link partners with the anchor text and description that you would like them to use when linking to your site. Otherwise the link will often just be some version of the domain name. Don't hesitate to ask people linking to your site to modify the anchor text. This should ideally correspond to the content of the page being linked to and should target the main target keywords of the site.
